Climate & Growing Conditions
Penrith council area is in the west of Sydney. Its climate is fairly dry with an average rainfall of around 750mm with the wettest months being in January and February when afternoon storms are more common. Temperatures range from a blistering 46deg in the middle of summer to sometimes freezing overnight temperatures in the middle of winter.
Any plants grown in the Penrith region need to be tough indeed. They should be able to cope with extremes in temperature and low rainfall. In general, any plants grown in Zone 3 will be suitable for growing in these conditions.
